Dr. Mantesso, an Assistant Professor and emerging scholar in immersive learning, first began teaching and developing a high-fidelity simulation lab in 2010. In 2014, Dr. Mantesso began as a faculty member at the University of Regina, where she developed and developed and coordinated the FoN simulation and remediation lab. Her award-winning doctoral work examined mental health promotion of Gen Z youth, highlighting youth engagement with digital media technologies and social connectedness. She has secured Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation funds to better support Indigenous women’s mental well-being and holistic health during the prenatal period. Her interests focus on salutogenesis, the study of the origins of health, which can be developed using immersive technologies.
